NY State of Mind

By

Happy 4th of July everyone!  This week I didn’t have time to put pen to paper, I have just returned from a short break in upstate New York.  I visited Lake George and Saratoga Springs with my dad. We took a boat ride, watched the sunset, ate amazing ice cream and admired vintage cars. Check out the highlights below, and if you haven’t already, visit upstate NY – I highly recommend it (preferably when it’s not 100 degrees though!).

As always, pushing for health.READ MORE

The Wisdom
of Animals

By

Animals have been spiritual companions to humans since the beginning of time and it’s no coincidence we feel a connection with them. Animals touch us in a deep, central place – something I personally experienced when I met eight adorable puppies last weekend.

Why Motivation

Two minutes

Let me start with an apology, I’m already a day late in posting this (sorry!).  A combination of family in town and my work schedule left me with little time to spare this week.

Saying that I wanted to share an amazing interview I watched recently. I think it may have transformed my life, so I urge you to take fifty minutes out of your day and see what Mel can do for you!!!! READ MORE

Some of my
favorite things

By

This last week has been nothing short of crazy. I’ve visited three different time zones (here I am rounding my travels off in beautiful, sunny Beverly Hills), and my body clock has no idea if it’s coming or going. I also decided to switch gears for this weeks post, to share my current reading material and a recent podcast that really inspired me. Enjoy 🙂READ MORE

How NOT to be successful

By

Yesterday, I came across a candid blog post, questioning the so-called keys to success. It began:

No, You Shouldn’t Wake Up At 5 AM…

You don’t have to follow anybody’s morning routine.

Because you know what? I’m just going to tell it like it is.

Getting up at 5 AM…

And drinking warm water with lemon…

And doing an intermittent fast…

And reading a book a day…

And meditating for 45 minutes…

…will not make you a successful person.’

Intrigued, I read on.

The 2 for 1 hormone OXYTOCIN:
Fix your relationship and health
at the same time

By

”..men lie, women lie, numbers don’t..”   Jay-Z.

During his acceptance speech at the 2009 American Music Awards,  Jay-Z quipped about the ubiquitous relationship killer – trust. He’s not wrong. Infidelity is a leading cause of divorce, and in the U.S., rates are high: 40-50% of marriages end in divorce. But it need not be that way.

Through the simple act of hugging someone you release a feel good hormone called oxytocin, which promotes feelings of trust and bonding — both in yourself and the person you’re touching. Not only that, oxytocin can help control high blood pressure, anxiety, digestive disorders, and pain.

Could it be true then – All you need is love…..?READ MORE
